The first pressure sensor developed by Merit was qualified for production in 1993 and 5 years later the companies sales volume surpassed USD 1 Million. Merit sensor designs and manufacturers MEMS silicon dies that measure pressure from 0 to 15,000 psi in sensing environments from -40 to 150 °C. The dies are available in absolute, gauge, vacuum, and differential configurations. Merit also produces pressure sensor packages for integration into customers custom applications. MEMS Silicon Dies : These dies come in various sizes and sensitivities as well as different pressure types, such as absolute and gauge/gage. Passively Compensated Packages : These are pressure sensors that are compensated for room temperatures by laser trimming thick-film resistors, which is what we call passive compensation. Uncompensated Packages : These are pressure-sensor packages where the MEMS silicon die has simply been wire bonded and packaged for protection and ease of integration into the customer’s housing.
